Daily activities completion crystal rewards

This is just a random question but how exactly does the crystal payout for completing and collecting all the rewards work? Back on my birthday I recieved like 250 crystals upon claiming all the reward...

I have gotten 250 a couple of times. Withing a couple of weeks of each other a while back. A steady 5 ever since.
