Going in and backing out counts as an attempt.

I personally don't see why it should. If the game crashes, or reloads because you had to be called away, that's an attempt wasted. It's not like this mode has a time limit.

I don't care. I do one attempt per day on auto. I think running 5 attempts to squeeze out another 2% is a waste of my time. Coliseum in its current form is just an incubator. In practical terms, it just means I have the kit reveals for marquees 3 months before I get to play with them, like with Conquest units. I honestly don't understand all the complaints about the Coliseum being boring and barebones. You have the entire rest of the game to occupy you, just like it was before Nov 18th.

Coliseum was supossed to be the great innovation, the new way to play, the new everything... and it's just crap. It's in the front-page, it's what you see when you load the game... and it's crap. Crap not just for not being fun, it's bad implemented, provides a terrible sense of progression, has been terribly explained... that's why almost everyone complains. So, maybe, just maybe, if the rest of the game is still there (it is), maybe, just maybe, they should throw it out and rethink the whole thing before taking it back to the game.

If you can cancel an attempt in any way, voluntarily or not, you will have infinite attempts. Yes, it can crash and it's not your fault, but anyone can "crash" the game if the attempt is bad, too. In that case, the limit would be nonsense.
