I don't think light side is any better, it's just that their good characters require less dedication to farm. Since hard node only farms for shoretrooper, krennic, nihilus don't make it easy to run a dark side team, and then you have mother talzin and her two year long farm, and IPD and wampa and how they're locked behind territory battles.
Also people have a tendency to target others who run different teams. A good thrawn led team is much more difficult to beat than your standard CLS team imo, but it drops farther overnight because people attack it to break up the monotony of CLS team after CLS team in arena
