Darth Revan health equalization questions

So according to the FAQ which can be viewed here Darth Revan must survive the hit in order to equalize health. As you can see in the video below, I hit Darth Revan, who was below 100% health for 46,545. This is my opponent in TW whose Darth Revan only has 39,289 total health. How does a 46k hit not kill him? What am I missing? He should not survive that hit to be able to equalize health. The hit is at the 37 second mark.
