Defense, is it worth it?

I'm curious if there is a thread, or if anyone has crunched the numbers on defense over protection or health. Is it worth using? I keep getting upper tier gold mods with lots of defense. Thank you...

Do you still have the armor number to percentage of damage reduction formula? I'd I'm not mistaken you cracked it right?

I wonder if it is worth doing this in a few circumstances and to some characters...
