I don't think you fully read what I wrote ATM.
"Anyone pining for go based matchmaking never played under the old system or doesn't remember it and would be complaining in 6 months when a wave of focused lsb gac accounts started beating them."
"I feel very strongly that for Carbonite, Bronzium, and Chromium matchmaking should be filtered first by GP, then GL count, and then relic count. "
This wouldn't be a 1-filter setup. That was naive to begin with. When the devs first created GAC (before relic levels even existed) I could understand the thinking. But this is WAY further than that now, and using a single form of filtering players simply doesn't work anymore.
My proposed idea would first group people of similar GP with each other, regardless of what's in it. Additionally it'll use the next criteria - GL. If you have 7M GP and no GL you'll be paired with someone else like you. On top of that there's the 3rd criteria - relic count. You wanna make a GP fluff account? Go ahead. You won't be alone, and you'll be matched with other players who do the same thing. The only person you're going to hurt is yourself.
"BTW, your last 5v5 you faced 3 accounts bigger than yours and won 2, and could have won the 2nd round if you used the resistance fleets together instead of random junk fleets"
Um who are you to tell me what my roster is or isn't capable of? Guess what. Most of my resistance roster doesn't have mods. Puts my entire resistance fleet at a major disadvantage. Furthermore, what am I going to do with a pathetic capital ship with an unmodded character, with maybe 1-2 ships that actually do have decent stats, while the key ships you need to pull off something like that aren't even 5 stars. Yet you have the audacity to act like you know better. You don't. I've been around the block probably just as long if not longer than you. There's a reason why I usually quit every couple of years and come back 3-4 years later.
That's also why I said if you're in higher ranks, and you also have the roster to stay there, keep your opinion to yourself. I can already tell you've been where you're at for a good minute and you're entirely out of touch.
"I have members in my guild with 1-2 GL in Carbonite who are stuck because most of their units are Gear 12 or lower, being matched with people who have 4-5 GL."
Do you even remember what it looks like in Carbonite?
- 1 Fleet
- 1 Squad per platform
So you have 1 GL, your opponent has 4 (so he can wipe your whole board without trying) or just put all the GL on defense.
With your only GL and a roster that has a ton of G12 units, the absolute best you can even dream of hoping is beating 1 single team, basically for participation rewards.
There's a reason why I said this post wasn't for you, and I meant it.
