No, TB its fun, CLS its ruininng the balance
This isn't the reason why - we've always had major game balance disruptions and they've never broken the game before. They seem old hat now, but we've had tons of toons make temporary runs at shattering balance, Biggs/Wedge, Chirrut/Baze, zMaul, etc. CLS is just the current flavor of unfair, and it will pass. When people are routing CLS reams with EP/Probe Droid, suddenly it won't seem like such a massive deal anymore. Two years from now it may well be Pong Krell / Revan that is "gloriously unfair" and people will be harping that CLS used to be good and now I can barely use him.
The river runs, does it not.
These are the ones I generally see creating threads saying "Who asked for more content?"
To some extent, but people keep saying "You said you wanted more content and they put in more content and now you're unhappy!" but no one is actually arguing that new content is bad - not exactly.
When people say "The last thing we need is more content" they really mean "The last thing we need is more time required doing the same kind of content we already had"
That's why TB sparked this response -- yes TB itself is something new to do, but the actual combat missions are just a six wave run through the same type of mechanics we've all been playing for two years. The torque on the missions was that you can have bonus abilities and stats based on platoon completion - which, in theory, is a pretty good idea but it was esoteric and hard to grasp. When too many stat modifiers stack, it becomes impossible to mentally process and just makes it feel like its not really there. We've completed 8 territory battles now, and I've run my guild TB coordinate during 6 of them. I still couldn't tell you what the platoon bonuses do without checking them. Something something critical hits, something something daze on first attack.
This is one of the reasons why I really like the assault battle events - they were drab but they've gotten so much better and the squad restrictions make you approach them differently than all the other stuff you do. Also most of them have simple supplemental mechanics.
I really like the Ewok AT-ST battle event too, because its something that *feels* very fresh. And this is what people we're really hoping for on the Hoth TB combat missions. That in this phase, you have a 2 wave fight against AT-STs and you really need defense breaking characters. Then in this phase you have a 3 wave CM against large numbers of snowtroopers and you need strong AoE based teams. Then in this phase you have...
People aren't mad that new content was added - they were upset that they didn't feel like the new content added anything insightful to the game BUT required them to invest more personal time into the game.
