It would be good to explain what is behind the pay wall and what isn't. Are episode quests behind a pay wall? Can you still get the free episode track completed if you don't do these? Maybe call these bonus or something so there is clear separation.
Are the character quests included towards the episode track? If so, that is a separate pay wall from the episode track pay wall.
Zero transparency. They're hoping people will blindly throw money at the app. Really, I'm considering quitting altogether, when just a day ago I was thinking about the JML pack. I can't even stomach logging in now, I genuinely start to feel bad inside at the loading screen. It's just become too much. There are SO MANY problems still unaddressed from earlier in the year, I am personally still missing crystals from a bug a month ago, and now they're paywalling a large portion of daily content.
Just be blunt, already (stop playing everyone for suckers) and just make it a subscription game. The people that don't want to spend (which will likely be most of them, at this point) will stop playing altogether, and everyone feels less frustration.
I don't know how it's determined, but EA was on a streak for years with "worst company in America" for years on the Consumerist list, and I'll nominate them for the award this year in a second.
