Do crit avoidance mods work?

I've only gotten one mod with a high crit avoidance, so it's hard to tell how representative it is but I've noticed very little difference when using it. Has anyone else had any success with these? Wo...

Example should have been:

Ahsoka has 24% crit avoidance being attacked by Aalya with 50% crit chance. It will reduce Aalya Crit chacnce to 26%

Ahoska being your character and Aalya being opponent.
