A lot of the damage is % based, so that part won't matter. There are basically going to be 2 disadvantages. 1) Speed. I don't know what the speed of 5* will be. That's going to be a huge factor. 2) Reinforcement numbers. 5 star will be 2 reinforcements short. So you have a huge disadvantage in long battles. A Defensive Mace team that can absorb a punch and throw out a lot of reinforcements will be really tough. Plus your power will be much lower, which may make you a target in arena.
Since when did stars increase speed?"stumpoman;c-1307050" wrote:
thrawns ultimate has a shorter cooldown than tarkins and will occur first even with the lower speed
I'm 7-0 now vs. better overall built / geared teams using 7* chimera with G12 + 1 or 2 zetas Thrawn vs. my 7* Executrix and Thrawn has never got off his end game move. And when I say better built, I mean by quite a bit - my ship team's GP is 392k and these are 440k+ with many G12 pilots.
I've been as much as halfway through my TM being filled toward my second move before Chimera even takes it's first action due to dodges by TFP feeding TM. On defense the Chimera's very slow speed actually makes for safer / easier wins than vs. Tarkin.- I run a 6* endurance. I been battling both 7* chimeras and 7* executrix's. They all have roughly the same ships. For me personally, the defense of the executrix's is better than the chimeras. So far, I have only had 1 make it to its 4th turn out of 6 battles. The executrix's with near identical ships/power takes me to the 5th turn almost every time and I have to be prepared for the ae. if get it off on time i usually win, if not I'm dead.
On defense, I think the executrix's are better so far. and out of all the battles, none have ever even been able to deploy a 4th ship. unless they reduce the cool down of the reinforcements, I don't think we will ever see a need for that extra ship - @JohnnySteelAlpha Thanks for the great info. I was considering going the 7* Executrix route. Thanks to all your great info, definitely - and working on the Gauntlet SF as well. Great stuff as always.

yes I've never seen either side get to the 4th reinf and haven't even had it close yet - typically you don't even get to the 3rd. Interesting to hear feedback from an Endurance user. I think Chimera has better mid-game moves than Executrix, but it's close - where Executrix still has an edge though is in the TIE Strike move - it's so deadly. Then there's just still the common RNG in there for ship battles .. who gets the most dodges from TFP, who crits, who gets the TLs up for biggs taunt and prot regen, and so on.- Bottom line- endurance and home one are now definitely the worst capital ships. Executrix and Chimaera are best. Slightly too early to tell which one but once everyone has reaper we will know for sure. Executrix appears to be edging it.
I've a 7 star chimaera and I'll have a 7 star executrix by the end of this week. "JohnnySteelAlpha;c-1306834" wrote:

My shard is now full of 7* Chimera's. I will not even unlock him this go around. So far I've had mixed results. I run Tarkin 6*; and some Chimera's I blast through with zero issues, others hand me my hiney on a platter.
Confirms sorta what I am seeing... Chimaera does seem slightly better, in that the bad RNG seems to happen a bit more against him.
Pretty sure this is due to the CC/CD bonus with Empire ships, CC luck and AI targeting more than anything.
Similar would happen when tarkin vs tarkin for me, miss a few TL and the match could be lost.
At the end of the day Tarkin still has the countdown to doom which results in a win 90+% if you can last that long.
He who's TFP dodges more... Wins.
Which the AI can't be manipulated more vs. the Human - human don't target TFP except with DV. Also, put TFP as out of stealth with Scimitar. AI won't do that typically either unless all other ships are badly damaged.
You can also target ressurecting ships with TFP's special which will be an auto-avoid due to foresight."Tuscan21;c-1307463" wrote:

Would not sign that 100%. On my shard some guys figured that Endurance is apparently a good counter to Chimaera.- Sry doublepost
- Chimaera was overrated, i have seen two 7* Chimaera hanging around 50 and 20 at my shard

Yes Chi was overrated by some that thought it would totally break arena in a similar way that CLS has, but it's still a very good Cap Ship. On offense I hear that it gets wins even better than Executrix. From my experience so far in about 12 battles vs. 7* Chis with g12 thrawns however, I find it less difficult to fight as compared to other Executrix.
I also disagree with the Endurance comment - at least on offense Endurance with well-built ships seems to do fine vs. Chimera.
