I've said this already somewhere today, but I think it bears repeating:

I (and many others) see Star Wars as a George Lucas creation first and foremost. As such, the movies (more so Episodes IV, V & VI) are "primary" sources. All other sources are more secondary when it comes to "canonical" characters/events. Many people don't even watch the TV cartoons or read the Marvel sources. Far more people have seen the movies. It's also worth noting that this fact is not wasted on Disney/EA/CG - they release characters for the game that appeal to the largest possible audience, while, simultaneously trying to expand that base. That's why all the recent additions have come from - the most recent move.

While they will likely occasionally throw in a character from other, "secondary" sources, I suspect that will be far more often the exception, rather than the rule.

Unfortunately, this argument doesn't carry much weight, seeing as the vast majority of characters in the game come from episodes 1,2, and 3, and the Clone Wars cartoon.

I guess you and I are playing a different game then. Luke, Leia, Lando, Old Ben, Biggs, Wedge, all droids save for HK, all jawas, all Ewoks, any Empire toon, all bounty hunters except, Cad, Nute, etc.,etc.

Incidentally, I said all the movies (with emphasis on 4,5 & 6) - so you get Cad, the Nighsisters and HK and now GK. Who did I miss?

I would rather see canon Star Wars characters than knights of the old republic not real characters. They could do Sabine masked with the dark sword, they could do the seventh sister, fifth brother, inquisitor, they could do Jeb. Any others like Ezra or Kanan would just be meh. They could do hondo, older white lightsaber wielding Ahsoka. I think that would be pretty cool. Oh and grand admiral thrawn would be nice too.

I gotta say, Some of the rebels show is poor. Some of it though is really good. This season is going towards a conclusion that everyone into star wars would appreciate. There is going to be a final confrontation between Kenobi and Maul on Tantooine. And, because of Ezra, Leia and the rebelion is going to know how to reach Kenobi. That's cool to see play out, IMO.
