Draws in GA

Why does higher GP win in Grand Arena after a draw? Surely if someone with less GP can draw with a more powerful player (albeit not much more powerful) surely the underdog should take the win...

Spoiler: it makes absolutely no difference. This is as random as it gets for a condition what will rarely happen.
