Developer: Level 15 crons that are for specific characters and majorly OP. Costs even more materials, which means more cash in our pockets. And as an added bonus, when they expire, they don't give back any materials.
CG: Brilliant, release them at once!
Honestly, I think only whales like datacrons overall. I wish they would just discontinue them and put planning towards things like simming the raids (or give us a use your previous score option).
I wonder if CG really are like that, certainly feels like it at times. "What you don't like it? He he, how do you like those apples?" They've always been like it too!
I don't know how I feel about datacrons. It's scary how much of my resources I spend on them. I definitely thought they were OK at first. Maybe selfishly, as players I was vs in GAC didn't tend to invest in them. Over time though, that's changed. Now it's an arms race. I don't think whales really like being forced into that either. The handful of krakens though....I guess it suits them being able to flex the wallets.
There's definitely positives though. The meta doesn't get stale. Datacrons are forever changing what teams are at the top. Also, depending on what your opponent has, it can add diversity in that period too. If having a perpetual changing meta without having to affect the ceiling of the best characters in the game, well then they're a pretty good idea.
I'm with you. Datacrons and the new L15 DCs would be great if they were well designed. Have you tried a 3v3 DRey mirror battle yet? It's really funny to watch them bash each other's heads in, all with just a tiny red health bar, but no one dies the whole battle. Absolutely ridiculous.
That reminds me of the total workover disaster they did with Leviathan after P1 was introduced.
