Drop rate vs ye ole calculator

The odds of missing your target 20 times in a row with a 25% success rate are:
1,099,511,627,776 : 1

The odds of missing your target farm in swgoh is
Guaranteed daily, double guaranteed on double drops, triple guaranteed when characters or gear are nearly complete... ;)

Just sayin’ cause math doesn’t lie

That's because no disagrees with the point "guaranteed drop rates > double drop rates". Many of us are taking issue with the same old complaints like the OP - which, your point does not actually even address - so start your own thread instead of trying to derail this one.

Yes, the OP's complaint is a tired and boring argument - and yet many players keep making the same baseless, data-less complaint, over and over again on the forums. Some of us simply like trying to explain the facts, because integrity matters - even if it's boring. If that's inconveniencing you or troubling you in some way, then feel free to start a thread on guaranteed drops being better than double drops....and no one will disagree with you.

I'm starting to get bored of this. drop rates remain the same, you only get 2 shards instead of 1.that's why I wrote guaranteed drops would be nicer. do you ever read prior comments before commenting?

    Here's what you really wrote:

anyway. this is not guaranteed droprate, just gives you 2 instead of 1 shard you know.

Where's the "guaranteed drops would be nicer" part?

And BTW yes, this actually is guaranteed drop rate. This is just how drop rates and probabilities work.

guaranteed drop means 100% drop chance, for example from 5 battles you get 5 shards, instead of lets say 30% drop chance you would get 2 shards, with current event it is 4 shards because the bonus

This would make normal energy effectively like store currency. If you're guaranteed to get a drop, then you're effectively just buying stuff from a store. I don't know how you can describe that as 100% drop "chance".

This will never happen, for pretty obvious reasons. I mean, I'd like the credit heist to give me 50M every time, but me asking for this does not qualify as a "good suggestion".

I suggested this version of event instead of double drops. So it would be limited, 100% drop chance all time would not be implemented for obvious business reasons.

OP complained about the fact that, during double drops event , if you miss the target, it is double miss. which I replied with 'what about having guaranteed drops instead'

I do, because people are generally very bad at resource management, which is to my advantage.
  • Depending on the longevity of this game 100% drop rates might be implemented some day, for legal reasons. The gambling aspect of drop rates are really starting to peak the interest of politicians across the globe.

This is in part based on a misconception about laws that exist and the direction they are taking. Generally speaking this is not something that will happen due to anything that is going on right now in the practical laws that are being passed in many countries.

as one example, in most cases no current law (on the books or being discussed/proposed) has any effect on games like SWGOH. on top of that, in almost all cases the simple removal of "nothing" as a possible drop excludes games from the laws effects.

While there may be some edge case locations that have laws that would effect games like SWGOH, they dont seem to be the norm by any means. (This is not to say there are not laws being proposed that seem very severe, but they all get cut down and seem to be political rhetoric than actual attempts to make the change you are mentioning.)
  • So you are saying politicians want to remove randomness from games? Yeah, right.

Ban all dice! Absolutely no coin tossing!

This isn't gambling - no one is winning here.

Although I only glanced over all the replies I didn't see what should have been the first comment,

    Don't tell me the odds!
