Pretty ridiculous that "Epic" characters like Malak and General Skywalker, who require an INSANE amount of resources, and multiple legendary characters to unlock, let alone gear, should then be stuck ...

And yes, Malak was less of an issue because he was viable at least for Arena when he unlocked 5*.

So yes, I'm fine with it. If Epic characters, devastating mini-bosses, become a thing (and it seems it does), I'm quite happy that it's very very very difficult to have one up and running, because the alternative would widen the gap between ftp and paying customers. As you can't buy GET, you can throw all the money you want, you won't be able to build an Apex predator team with just money. I don't see this a a bad thing. Furthermore, it means less Relic level GAS in Arena and GA (for a time), and I don't see this as a bad thing either.
The fact that GET is a "character resource"(Hoth people, Epic characters, Capital ships) and not a "gear resource" doesn't help alleviating the gear crunch, obviously. It may be misleading as there are tons of tasty gear pieces to buy in this store, and it's frustrating not being able to buy them because it's a character resource, but I won't blame CG to give me the option to do so. I won't blame CG neither if they give me ways to buy more gear (more GAC tokens?) because I need to save GET for Epic characters :)
