Endor escalation - bonus tier

Question

The main purpose of Endor Escalation is to get some Wicket Shards.
So what is the point of the Bonus Tier where it says : unlock the bonus tier with a 7-star Wicket.

It makes no sense at all to require an already 7-star Wicket to unlock a Bonus Tier to get more Wicket Shards if we already have Wicket 7-star ??
Do someone understand the idea ?

I think you get a 7 star wicket when you unlock the bonus tier.
