I have news for you: This entire business model is anti-player. It is not based on CG making the most fun, enjoyable game they can for players (at least not once they've established a player base). If that were the case, a whole lot of things would be different (we'd have a sandbox mode, refreshed TW, better matchmaking, no relic delta, cheaper/lower-level datacrons, none of these garbage era challenges, etc.).
No. The business model is based on player frustration. CG's goal is to frustrate players enough to get them to spend money. Of course, CG can't frustrate them so much that too many players quit—though some f2p or light spenders quitting is no loss for them. But their main job is to find that line of frustration and milk it for all it's worth.
I think it's time we abandon the delusion that CG's main interest is player satisfaction.
Just watched an ahnold vid about it. I never seen such a money hungry company in my life. I been screwed 3 times by their support to save them a few bucks. Now they make it completely obvious they added content just to make a buck. My main game now is Diablo immortal where I see high price items at the store yet I'm level 60(300+ paragon) on 2 toons without spending a cent and never feeling the need to and I'm having a blast as a ftp player.
All I do on swgoh is mainly the daily including the episode quest and a few rounds of conquest a day and once in a while an event if the reward is good enough.
Blizzard is just as money hungry, but they make up for it with subscriptions and 90% of what is in the in game store is cosmetic only. Not mad at Blizzard. Been playing Warcraft since launch of Orcs and Humans and Diablo is probably one of the best stories and titles out there next to Assassin's Creed.
No where in my post did I claim blizzard doesn't care about money. I played wow until the in game store came out. They just now have a game you can play ftp if you want. It just surprised me when I started all they give you for free and let you do for free.
Oh and the few times I had to deal with blizzard support in wow was all positive. They don't penny pinch like cg
It’s genuinely baffling how a once successful game now has a dev team that is wetting the bed with bad decision after bad decision. The devs might as well be nonexistent and it’s just a bunch of money hungry goblins that don’t even know what a video game is or its purpose…
They already give f2p minimal rewards, now with tier one I would drop down 10 era currency to 30. CG has forgotten about the carrot and they just keep hitting us with the stick.
