Event Bonus Tier Discussion
Hey everyone there has been some discussion here about the bonus tiers I've been including in events.
Specifically, some people have wondered "what they get us" (which is to say, are they worth the effort it takes to make and tune them, which is not insignificant). I've been including them purely because I feel that players who are "maxed out" need some challenging content to do beyond raids, and because players who aren't yet maxed out need something aspirational to strive for. But I am always willing to admit that my assumptions may be wrong. Game design is equal parts art and science, and it's hard to quantify the art part with data most of the time.
So I'd like for you all to chime in and tell me your thoughts on the bonus tiers so far. Especially, do you do them, do you enjoy them, and what would drive you to refresh them reward wise. There are also two improvements I'm looking to make in the future, probably starting in March (since the lead-time is so long on event creation) which are: 1) Adding achievements for completing a bonus tier (if the event is recurring), and 2) adding a character that is ONLY obtainable from bonus tiers for some length of time.
