So I finally managed to have all the requirements before May 15th, though was unaware of the once a month time window: on the 15th I forgot to unlock it. I just researched it takes 2 years to 7-Star....

I mean, you can do you. But I didn't mind relicing up Darth Vader, Admiral Piett, and Boba Fett. They're great characters who still have a place in the meta. The other bounty hunters less so, but they're all used in the Executor fleet anyway.
You can refresh the monthly event for 1000 crystals (up to 19 times per event, I believe). So you get a minimum of 10 shards free, plus refreshes.
I'm totally f2p, and I just saved up some crystals each month and had my 7* Executor in about 3 or 4 months. It's really not that bad.
