Fan Kit Idea: Mandalore the Preserver

I know a lot of people might not like the Old Republic era after so many metas being defined by the time period, but I think with all the Mandalorian characters being added to the game, it'd be cool if we at least got Mandalore the Preserver from KOTOR 2. I kind of just had some fun with the kit ideas, most of the inspiration came from Mandalore's unique feats inside KOTOR 2, with some mix-ins similar to Canderous Ordo, Wat Tambor, and Cassian Andor's kits in swgoh. I also wanted the kit to be somewhat simple compared to other crazy kits out there, but I also wanted it to synergize well with other mandalorian kits out there. Enjoy!

Basic: For Mandalore!

FINAL TEXT: Attack dealing physical damage. This attack has an additional affect for each unique debuff on the target:

-Armor shred: call a random mandalorian ally to assist

-Damage over Time: Deal double damage

-Daze: Gain Retribution for 1 turn

-Offense Down: Gain Defense Up for 2 turns

-Speed Down: Reduce Mandalore the Preserver’s cooldowns by 1

-Buff Immunity: All mandalorian allies recover 10% health and protection

Special 1: Adhesive Grenade (cooldown 5)

FINAL TEXT: Increase the cooldowns of all enemies by 1. Inflict Speed Down, Offense Down, Daze, Buff Immunity, and Damage over Time (once each) on random enemies for 2 turns.

Leader: Mandalorian Courage

FINAL TEXT: Mandalorian allies are immune to fear. At the start of the encounter, all Mandalorian allies gain the granted ability Rally the Clans.

Rally the Clans: Dispel all debuffs on all mandalorian allies. All mandalorian allies gain offense up. Rally all mandalorian allies. Reduce the cooldown of all other abilities by 2.



Rallied characters act based on their role:

- Tanks Taunt and gain critical hit immunity for 2 turns

- Attackers assist

- Healers and Supports restore 15% health and protection to all allies



This ability is on a shared cooldown between allies who have Rally the Clans and is immune to cooldown manipulation. (Cooldown: 10)

Unique 1: Implant Switching

FINAL TEXT: Mandalore the Preserver gains access to the following implants in the form of abilities. When Mandalore the Preserver uses an implant, he gains the effects until defeated or the end of the battle, and he removes any other active implant effects from himself. The cooldown of the activated implant is set to max and can’t be reduced. The cooldown of other implants are reset.

Mandalore the Preserver starts with the Endurance Implant activated.

Regeneration Implant: Recover 5% health and protection at the start of each turn.

Endurance Implant: Mandalore the Preserver taunts while he has protection. At the start of each ally turn, gain critical hit immunity for 1 turn.

Strength Implant: Gain offense up, critical chance up, critical damage up, and defense penetration up for 1 turn at the start of each of Mandalore the Preserver’s turns, and whenever Mandalore the Preserver deals damage, he inflicts a damage over time effect for 2 turns.

Agility Implant: Gain speed up and evasion up at the end of each of Mandalore the Preserver’s turns for 1 turn, and whenever Mandalore the Preserver uses his basic ability on his turn, attack again.

Unique 2: Heavy Armor Proficiency

FINAL TEXT: Mandalore the preserver has 100% defense. The first time each other mandalorian ally falls below 60% health, Mandalore the Preserver equalizes health with them and dispells all debuffs on himself. Then Mandalore the Preserver gains protection over time and heal over time for 3 turns.

    I know the initial wording is weird, but I'm trying to copy the spirit of Wat Tambor's tech. Essentially Mandalore has several implants that he can chose from and only one to be active at a time, and then I laid out the 4 possible options.

    Can he change them over the course of thr battle? Or choose one at the start?


    He can change them, he starts out with the taunt implant to essentially give him a pretaunt. But when he activates one, it has it's cooldown maxed out (similar to when wat gives a tech out) and then he can swap to one of the other implants as needed. Only 1 implant effect can be active at a time though.

    Thank you! I wanted to capture the essence of the KOTOR 2 character, but also didn't want to make his kit too outlandish. I personally really like the leadership. I adapted his KOTOR 2 feat that gives him immunity to fear to make it so that if he is the leader, all mandos get immunity to fear. I feel that this helps a lot because whenever there is a tank that is the leader, it becomes a free pot shot for a darth revan team to trounce, since it will be super easy to always target the leader and spread the AOE fear. Then the granted ability felt right, making it a rally which is what Mandalore the Preserver was focused on doing in KOTOR 2, gathering the scattered mandalorians.
