For those who will refer to QGJ, Mace or whoever that can dispell his taunt... well, that is only possible when they are around to dispell it. However, the chances are they are one shot killed by a Rey, GS or FOTP (who just got even more buff to this damage as CG fixed the 7* bug) while waiting for their turn. Even if they somehow manage to survive and dispell the taunt, what's the point when half of the team is dead?
Hey mate guess what Rey is turn 7 Speed, so is GS, both can 1 hit your toons without Poe. Should they be nerfed too? Poggle makes everyone so deadly and goes early, nerf him. Phasma gives TM advantahe and slows TM with AOE nerf her. While we are at it let's just make every toon same DPS same speed.
This thread about the update has, as all threads here that start positive, gone into a bunch of crying and whining. If you dislike it so much stop playing. Nobody is forcing you to play the game.
I'm sorry to everyone else for being negative here but the amount of whining here is getting old. When you can't have 1 positive post with people coming on it complaining it is just bad. The whining is making this forum toxic.
Yes, precisely. As many people have mentioned, fast heroes shouldn't deliver high damage. Can you imagine the Death Star being as nimple as a X-Wing? That is what we are unfortunately seeing in this game which is destroying the balance and diversity - i.e. there are no trade-offs.
Some players complain about Dooku, but I think he is perfectly fine. Fast and annoying, but little damage. He is a skirmisher. Some don't like FOTP. I think he is fine too as he is punishing, but slow.
So yeah, if I were CG, I would either reduce the damage of those fast, one shot killers or keep their damage, but reduce the speed. That would truly help promote diversity in this game, not some side event which forces you to only field Jedi Knights or some other faction.
Speaking of which, I sense this new event will offer the chance to get Palpatine by only fielding Empire units or Scoundrel Han by only allowing scoundrel units. Great move by CG as players will scramble and pour in crystals to acquire those required heroes (they will surely release hero packs as well to further cash in - which is fine as this is business). The sad part is, those heroes that players worked so hard in an attempt to gain a Yoda or a Palpatine will continue to get neglected in the Arena as long as the current speed + damage meta persists. For example, do you see yourself using Eeth Koth (whom a lot of players are considering as part of fielding a 5-man Jedi team) as a regular in your Arena team? I don't. I don't care if you are facing a droids team as Poe + high speed, high dps team will be as effective, if not better than using Eeth who is supposedly an anti-droid specialist.
I can see CG is trying hard to promote diversity. Some of the expected changes reflect that intention. However, unless you tackle the root cause, their effort will be in vain. Players aren't s t u p i d. There is a reason why everyone is using Poe or a GS. Telling them to explore other options is futile when Poe or GS is clearly the better option.
Lastly, just so you know, there is a difference between whining and being constructive. Whining is complaining without a suggestion. Being constructive is identifying an issue and offering an alternative solution.
I've been very critical of the game recently. But honestly other than crazy balance problems I feel like this update is a big win (minus the chance that the event is just GW with character limits). Agree 100% speed/dps outclasses everything 100%. I like the approach of not nuking everything right away (even though the change addresses 0% of Poes problems at the high end, and while I'm hoping Mace is viable I just don't see it with 1-2 shot characters unless the intention was Mace becomes a "tank" by having GS waste a turn to kill him before Windu gets a single turn).
Until there is a MAJOR overhaul 5-10 characters will rule the game. If Poe is nerfed someone just takes his place. Take a look at the leaderboard if you don't believe that, you'll see 3-5 leaders TOTAL. Games like these thrive on people collecting characters. The new event gives people incentive to do exactly what you mention about Eeth Koth. No one uses him at all in arena or GW or really anything. CG has a character that no one touches (unless they are a fan of the character). Also note that the recent Order 66 patch effectively pushed everyone off of collecting Jedi. The event (also not a one time thing, and hopefully there will be several of these running interchangeably. Say week 1 Yoda, Week 3 Palpatine, Week 5 Han, Week 7 Sarlacc ;) , Week 9 Yoda again, etc.) gives an actual reason for the characters that have no use. Which if you haven't kept track, is probably around 65 or so characters.
