Rebel Fighter means you were a grunt. Luke, Han, Leia, Mom Mothra, Admiral Ackbar--they were high level commanders. The tag doesn't mean you were a Rebel who fought--it means you were a Rebel that took orders instead of giving them.
But then there is a General Calrissian...
We don't have General Lando.
We have the original Lando which is the Cloud City Baron Lando, he's not a General yet, and we have Young Lando, clearly not a General yet.
Lots of the characters are "point in time" characters, which is why we can field a Han Solo team, for example. "Wrathe;c-2157898" wrote:

Not sure if that solved the inconsistency. Following your logic, ST Han and FB Luke shall be RFs as well since they are not (yet) high ranking officers of the Rebellion.
Let's take it as what it is. As someone already pointed out, it's just a way to (re) balance the game.

At this point, when on the Death Star - both Han and FB Luke were not Rebels - Luke was with Obi and Han was just the pilot - I suppose when they then attacked the DS at the end, then they became Rebels."LordDirt;c-2157731" wrote:
Once again, tags are given to characters to help make particular squads without breaking the game. Tags do not always fit and some tags are not always given.
Jedi Han Solo and Tusken R2-D2 coming soon* to "make particular squads". No complaints about cannon allowed because this isn't "breaking the game".- is it a big deal

sure, once you can show them giving something that is non canon to anyone.
everything they give someone is based on canon, they just may limit or remove something due to in game balance. they dont add things that are non canon.- In our last TW the opposition posted a full relic'd squad of Rebel Fighters under Mothra. On a whim I attacked them with CW Chewie g12 lead, Zaalbar g12, Vandor g12, Wampa R3 and Wat g11. Ruined them, Zaalbar was invincible and they could not get around him. Moral: don't post a Rebel Fighter defense team in PVP.

Neither of the Revan's are Canon :) Traya, Nilhilus and Sion are probably still legends. Palps the shuttle pilot didn't appear in cannon or out.
But putting aside all the nitpicking, we're all fans, and the consensus among us is the tag makes no sense. And it's not just about cannon as the examples above show (we asked for Revan for ages). Tags should make sense.
Yes for game balance reasons they could give Aayla Sucura the Sith tag - but we'll complain about it. they could omit Jedi Luke's Rebel tag, but we'll complain about it.
And we're right to complain about it.
If it's a case of 'we're not giving the tag to Fulcrum et al because they will eventually get a Rebel Attacker tag for General Dodonna' or in some other way have plans for these characters - maybe CG should tell us."IntrepidFox;c-2158783" wrote:

They do make sense. can you please show an existing tag that doesn't make canonical sense?
Tags given follow canon. tags being removed or limited due to game balance also makes sense.
also everything added to the game from my understanding is approved by Lucas Studios (and Disney), doesn't that mean they are recognizing it as canon? (i'm not sure who the ruling party would be considered for canon in the SW Universe. )"Johnnyreb1977;c-2158026" wrote:
It’s also a way for CG to make more money. Slap a new tag on that old forgotten garbage and give them a new leader and boom they got everybody scrambling to gear up Pao and Bodhi. To bad they can’t do this for the GR Jedi that we need for LSGEOTB.
Just saying..... Mon Mothma can full clear LSGEOTB battles.
