First Order/Resistance needs to be farmable

Farming 1 toon or one full piece of gear for weeks or months on end to complete it the equivalent of watching paint dry. Maybe it's just me and the fact of lvl of account and gear, but I started playing I believe in oct of last year, and the last couple of months drops have seemed to me to decrease, and yes I understand higher level gear should be harder to farm but I'm also talking about shards from cantina seem to drop less. I have an alt account that is level 80 I've been farming clones since the release of ships, I have farmed all 3 hard nodes for clone sergeant every day since and he's still only 5*. To me this is not fun at all and I'm about to quit my alt account as the "grind" (really poor drop rates) just isn't worth it for toons that aren't game breaking such as FOTP, FOST, RP, and RT. Those should be easily farmable characters. I can understand putting toons like shoretrooper, baze or churrit on hard nodes.
