Consider how many lvl9 crons you have to build sometimes and how many reroll mats you need to spend to build that one cron you're looking for. I built 5 lvl9s for the previous set looking for the specific combo of smuggler evasion lvl6 and Sana lvl9. Focused crons are expensive as hell, yes. However, consider the fact that they all seem to be brokenly powerful and there's no RNG at all. You're guaranteed to get exactly what it says.
You have a point, inflating the price from 7.5mln datacache and 190 mk3 to 28mln and 980 mk3 is an insane jump, but I'm willing to tolerate it, especially given that the sector 4 node in conquest always ends up giving way more mk3 than mk2. For a normal lvl9, you need 305 mk2. FDC need way more mk3 than mk2.
Datacache will be a bigger problem than the other upgrade mats. If you want to build a healthy low-end of 10 lvl9s + 1 FDC per set, that's over 100mln datacache and dusting the same amount of crons will net you about half of that. Buying 1mln datacache at a time for 500 SSC was already annoying af and this will only make it worse.
I would hope that CG add datacache drops to all conquest dcron nodes or else it being competitive in crons will now mandate dipping into crystals to buy datacache, which is a horrible way to spend crystals.
In short: I need datacache waaaaaaaay more than other upgrade materials. That's the real pain in the neck.
Yeah I agree. I am not really worried about the mats, but having to spend ~30M cache to fully upgrade one of these new crons is insane. Mats have almost never been a bottleneck for me, but the cache was. This just makes it worse. If they don't make cache more accessible after the introduction of these new crons, then they will pretty much only be reserved for the top spenders who drop massive amounts of crystals on crons. For everyone else (including "normal" spenders) these will not be attainable.
