That's a silly thing to say, it applies to everything. If arena didn't award anything for second place, most people wouldn't bother.

There are 8 people in a matchup. It's likely that one or two will be PvP focused players, in which case they will do well - as they should, that's how they've chosen to play the game. The rest can still compete with each other.

False. Those of us who invested in fleet play are at a large disadvantage in this GA because they used total GP for matchmaking but there isn't a single fleet node.

The only way I am able to stay remotely competitive is skill & modding but even those cannot compensate for an opponent who has 30% more squad GP than I do.

I have invested heavily in my ships through multiple metas. I don't think all my G12 bugs are doing me much good in GA.

And yet I'm still winning.

Would that automatically make the system fair? One can still win in an unfair system. I doubt anyone is saying it's impossible to win, but that it's not a fair system.

Despite all my fluff I'm winning as well, I got 2nd in the first round by banner difference with full clears. That's because I'm a hardcore player. Nothing to do with the system.

If it were just roster optimization that would be fine but facing opponents who have up to 30% more resources to work with is a big handicap.

My first opponent has 17% more squad GP than I do. I am beating him because my modding is better than his and my strategic choices were good.

My next opponent will likely be one of the two players with around 28% more squad GP, 7-12 g12s, around a dozen zetas and good modding.

If I had 200k more squad GP we would be even, my roster would be closer to that level and we would have a good battle but I don't and my only realistic hope of victory is if they are a no-show.

The matchmaking is broken because it is using the wrong GP value.

I'm not sure what "believing in" slicing means though. It's here, it's not going away. You don't have to slice your mods to 6* if you don't want to, but asking the dev team to pretend the feature doesn't exist because you don't like it is just silly.

I just believe that the benefit of slicing mods to 6* is negated by requiring you to use them only on g12/7* toons. I guess the way it ties into GA is they are assuming most players in GA want 6* mods which it's probably closer to 50/50.

I really like the rewards, especially the gold slicing mats. I never bought a single one from guild store, because guild store is one of the most important gear source in the game (carbantis, cuffs, holo...) and « must farm » characters only found there (Jyn, Rex, Logray, Dengar, Starck...).

450 guild coins for 3 slicing mats is simply inconceivable for me. 100% ridiculous. Which is why i’m so happy i can get up to 36 of them every week for free^^ Up to 5400 guild coins worth of stuff is great. Cuffs are great too.

Your post proves my point. Wouldn't you rather have 5400 guild coins. GA is a trap require you to g12 all of your toons. I've been slicing arrows since those are interchangeable and lower speed mods like 10-15 speed that I wont miss with important primaries like potency and tenacity with the free slicing mats but I'd rather get rewards more similar to raids, TW, or TB.

Personally i definitely would take the 5400 guild coins. I believe that it depends on where you’re at in the game though. Someone who has most/all guild store only characters, and already a lot of g8-10 chars and is more preoccupied with getting chars g12 will probably be happy with the slicing mats.
I’m far from that point which is why i completely ignored gold slicing, but thanks to quests and ga i’ve been able to 6* some mods and i must say i like it.
Could the reward be better ? Obviously they could right, they always can. I do think they’re really good now though.

Plus we don’t know if they’ll be the same everytime, maybe cg will mix things up from time to time you know.
