TW opponent 83-2?!

Sorry to monopolize this board again. Our guild is horrible at TW. I'm unsure what we do wrong, but we're barely 17% win rate. We've tried moving wall orders around, investing in omicrons, etc but we just can't break through. We do not have a full guild which doesn't help, but I obviously need to do better as leader.

Anyway, what is average win rate for TW? We are facing an opponent who is 83-2 all-time!! Is that even possible?!

  • One of the most important determinants is guild activity level. No strategy will help if the opponent has a significantly more active guild. Just a handful of members who sign up contributing roster to the matchmaking algorithm not setting defence or attacking can be a detriment.  Some higher performing guilds have strict rules on not signing up if you are too busy to show up.

Other things which may help, is to have a list of good counters to popular defences to help those less confident in PVP. Gentle push towards TW omi’s and meta datacrons. And walls which require similar counters to exhaust and stall the opponent.

  • Lots of guilds sandbag nowadays.  If you can get max rewards with say 30 to 35 members, that lets you go against a guild that needs full participation to match.  Due to only putting in fewer players, the number of required teams per zone drops and allows for full walls of all the top GLs and datacrons.  I'm surprised my guild hasn't gone up against a full wall of Great Mother cron teams based on all the sandbagging we get.

  • At the higher GP levels, what you tend to see are guilds joining at 40 or fewer, giving them an easier match up.  That is a big reason why some guilds have much higher win rates, there are some that legitimately dominate in TW, but for others if you look at their history, normally get placed with guilds 100M GP lower.  They use the system to their advantage to get more datacron mats, droid brains, etc.

They are not sandbagging they just have stricter activity rules, I have been in both and prefer the guilds which expect participation if you sign up rather than wanting full sign up. They do not control MM.

380M is max reward tier for TW, in a large GP guild you do not need everyone to sign up to achieve that tier. So they shift towards strict participation rules and allow busy players to not signing up. Where as other guilds have not shifted from chasing EVERYONE to sign up, even when they don’t need it. Including the players who routinely get 0 or just 50 banners. These players are why you lose to more active guilds. Their GP placed you against your opponents then they do not use it, and you pay for it.

At 300M+ everyone should have 200 banners (full offense), more if partial defence which gives more.

Our opponent is 177-9 all time TW History .As you asked how is that possible ,I looked at there guild they had nothing that caught my eye that made me think they were overpowered comparing to others.

your win rate is much higher than the folks we fought a few weeks ago at 7% with 0 in the last 6 months

Same. I can't see anything overwhelming on their roster. I'm at a loss for words. They have 50/50 guild members which can certainly lead to better success. But, aside from almost a full guild worth of poggle omis (48/50) and high level of lvl 6 datacrons, there is nothing that would lead me to believe they should have a 97% win rate.

Looks like they hardly put an GLs on defense. Every wall is TW omicrons (2 walls of Poggle, next wall of Mara, next wall of Grievous, etc.) with GL scattered in each wall. I'm shocked this strategy has worked 97% of the time.
