If you are trying to maximize your score in all cases it doesn't matter? This only becomes important if you plan on letting up a little just to be safe.

The most important thing is can you beat the meta without the meta. Doesn't matter if that occurs in the first 5 or the last 5, you dictate your defense based on this.
