GAC Battle Timer Expired?

How is it that I have enough service to load the game and enter a battle, then not enough service to log the battle, but enough service to get a battle timer expired error, and kicked back to the main menu, but then not enough service to go back in to GAC and see the results? (Which ended up being a wasted battle that cost me the victory this round)

Up until this point you always get the option to keep trying to connect until you're successful or the game restarts.
