GAC Cross League Matchups

Why can't you play against them? Why would they have byes? Why did you post such a silly message?

Or to put it another way, they match across leagues. The leagues just reflect each players points total

I thought it was a funny situation that someone was in a league by themselves. If you didn’t feel the same, the appropriate response is probably nothing.

They haven't, to my knowledge, stated whether or not cross league matchups are possible anymore. While I would assume that for situations like this they are I have not been in a group with folks from different leagues. Seems like a reasonable question.

I'm curious to know if you, or anyone else reading this, have been in groups with cross league representation at the start of the GA.

Pretty sure the matchmaker is respecting both division and league boundaries at this point so that person should get matched into a bracket of one and get three byes. A rather silly edge case but there you go.

Anymore? Cross-league match-ups have never been possible. GAC has always been set up to limit match-ups within leagues. They used to have match-ups across divisions, but that was changed. Keep in mind, however, if someone gets promoted to a higher league during the 3 match group, that won't matter....it's the league they were in at the time they joined the group.

My point was you invented a new rule. Leagues and divisions are different. This should be expected. Playing against people in different leagues isn't new.

Anymore or not anymore (that’s really not relevant to the question), have they ever explicitly said this? There is evidence that they try not to match across leagues but to limit the number of byes they may under certain circumstance match across leagues. Again, there is evidence (a seemingly small number of byes) that seems to support this too.

Did you actually read my post? Go back and read it before acting like this. I saw a unique situation, pointed it out, and asked how it would play out...that’s it.

I’m pretty sure the player got 2 byes. Points just went up by about 3000 at the start of matchups. It should go a long towards getting first overall.
