I am extremely frustrated about the same problem. You have explained the problem very clearly. I myself is a 5.1million GP player and I’m currently in bronzium 5. And I have lost every single match in Bronzium because every opponent has at least 2 million GP greater than me. I even encountered a guy with 12 million GP. I admit that my roster and strategies still need improvement, but overall I’m getting much less rewards than when I was in carbonite 1. So, I climb to a higher rank, get less rewards and have huge accounts beat me up and waste huge amounts of time. What’s the point? Therefore, the current GAC system is very broken. It punishes weak players ascending the ladder and instead rewards strong players purposefully losing to bully the weak ones. My suggestion is a system based on galactic power rather than the so-called skill rating. At the same time, increase rewards in higher ranks! Many many many players have voiced this problem before but cg ignored them and old players sometimes rejected them. Anyway, before this is fixed( probably forever), I’ll just lose the next couple of matches and stay in C1 comfortably
If the system were based only on galactic power, we would still face a series of balancing problems: e.g. skiled players with a tall roster vs new players with a wide roster. So, getting rid of the skill rating is unwise. There should be a way to use a skill rating system (to recognize player's skill/investment) that also take into account Galactic Power.
