GAC Skill and banners.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding something, so please correct me if I'm wrong--But if matchmaking is based off of Skill Rating, and Skill Rating is gained or lost depending on whether you win or lose (respectively) and the difference in your opponent's Skill Rating, then are banners meaningless outside of determining who won or lost?

I'm asking because my opponent has 4 Galactic Legends, a 7* Executor, and just a bunch of other stuff that severely outclasses my roster. There's no chance of me winning, and I'm okay with that because this is only the fourth match so it'll take time for separation to develop and people to rise and fall to their appropriate matchmaking ranks. So it seems to me that if I full clear and lose or if I don't attack at all (aside from the one needed to get credit for participating) and lose, my Skill Rank will be the same, right?

tl;dr: Does it matter if I try or not?

It’s such a stupid way to work things out. This isn’t call of duty. We don’t all start from the same point, with access to the same resources.

This is a wallet based GAC now. Skill is a cover. No matter your skill, you can beat bigger rosters.before you winner be placed with them. Now you do.

I can tell he paid by the mod compare. His mod depth was 1/4 of mine. That's where time spent F2P compensates for faster grown $ rosters. Mod depth takes time and effort, regardless of $. I think the average F2Per that is 5 million GP or more probably has better depth than the average P2Per.

That's not necessarily true. What if they are just a F2P that focus-farmed meta teams but are bad at mods? I know some people that are like this. You are likely right, but I'm just saying that there are more people like these than you think.
  • My brain has a hard time contemplating how a person can make it to 8 million GP and be "bad at mods." The game revolves around characters having at least appropriate mod sets. You can't perform in end-game modes enjoyingly, for example getting a couple waves in TB battles, without having your R7 teams at least moderately modded correctly.

I just can't see how 8 million gp game play wouldn't beget competent modding, just as walking 500 miles would beget leg muscle development.

Skill? The game mode is pretty much guessing what the other player will hold for offense and use for defense. Then just follow the basic counters. Game of luck.

A game of luck that some people seem to have mastered and have been/still are very succesful at even when being 1-2 GLs and several hundred k GP down.

    Nah... they're just lucky /s

As opposed to Squad Arena where you would see exactly what their defense was and then have your entire roster at hand to go up against it?

    Okay.

My guess is they spend credits moving mods and complain about being out of credits.
