They attack once and win. If you’ve got 7M and your opponent has 2M, this is hardly impossible.

It seems to be a semantics dispute around 'caring', because depending on how you define "caring", you both have a point. Not caring could be 'I don't play and I drop, who cares" or could be "I don't care so I play once in a while with minimul effort, slowly dropping until I hover in far too little ponds for my size".

The problem is, if such players do care enough to win, they couldn't also be dropping by losing. It's made-up.

I spent this last season winning one match per bracket because I didn't care enough to put in more effort......

Do you think this is because we are forced to play 3v3?

In my case it was because I am tried of being rewarded for success by constantly having to punch up vs higher GP rosters with more GLs and more resources.

I can still get decent rewards with a lot less work so there is no point putting more effort in and if I drop down the ranks a bit it just gets easier.

Oh... I thought we were talking about the big roster guy doing a single attack to beat the 10 banner small roster guy. But you're the small roster guy making the single attack against the big roster guys and still winning 1 of 3?

I actually have about the same GP as you, I have just been fighting even higher GP opponents because I am ranked higher.

This last season I decided to attack properly once per bracket to secure a win and then just slack off with a single combat per match for the rest.

A bit less payout than I would get for a 4-5 or 5-4 season but a lot less work than actually trying every match. And I can probably get it back to a consistent 4-5 with just a little more effort.

Must be Wednesday... people are still talking past each other about GAC competitive balance concerns...

I think the majority are talking about how, win or lose, it's very not fun for the small guy in that situation. If a 7M roster ends up against a 2M roster, the 2M roster is likely to win simply because the 2M roster is more likely to do *something* than the 7M roster, else the 7M wouldn't have dropped so far.

Is this something that happens often enough for CG to do something about it? Who knows (hint: only CG)? But it definitely happens at least occasionally. I should think it's pretty daunting and very off-putting for someone doing their first few GAC rounds to come up against a roster like that.

When someone with 8.5m GP in Kyber 2 is "the small guy", I start wondering if you all have got your stories straight on just who the boogeyman is.

Or, the two examples are not different situations that can both happen and you, for some reason I cannot fathom, have a problem with that. For whatever it's worth, I've only ever talked about lower league players with lower GP that end up matching with players that are 4M+ higher and have never said that the lower GP player was guaranteed to lose.

Welp. Because of all the mixed messages, I'd suggest people provide actual examples, rather than nebulous whatnots.

I did, though second hand. There are several posts on the forums with people in Carbonite being matched against someone that's 5M GP and several 4M+ GP mismatches. Like I said, maybe it doesn't happen that often, but as a new player I would be pretty put off by the entire system if that were one of my first matches.

I mean links to match-up on SWGOH.GG. We need context here.
