Yeah, I agree with you. I’ve matched against some 6m or 7m opponents before. The main reason for this post was just the absurdity of the tiebreaking system when you’re literally forced to play against people with higher GP, kinda weird man.
This tie breaking mechanism dates back to the original Grand Arena (pre-GAC) when matchmaking was by full roster GP and the GP spread between matched players was negligible.
Back then it was just a cheap, predictable alternative to an RNG coinflip.
Now with GP ignored in matchmaking and spreads of a million GP or more between the players it's just plain silly to automatically hand the tiebreak to the higher GP player.
