Your points seem to be right at first glance, but you clearly didn't take all of the factors into account. For instance, take my situation at the moment.
I am focused on Old republic missing toons (Ordo, Badstilla, Juhani and Carth). I am done with Ordo, so at the moment all of my steam goes fo Badstilla (Hard Node) and because I have spare cantina, I am getting B2 droid.
There's literally nothing I am interested in getting on a quick system from fleet nodes.
So either I'll dump my resources (I am hoarding crystals in case I'm late with OR toons if they are useful for "you know whom") into the fleet node and compromise my reserves for OR toons , or I'll move out form cantina (and delay my GG related toon) to get me more Palp shuttle shards.
And yet I still don't know whether I'll be able to unlock him (opposite to Marquee, where you were getting 3* basically for free) AND I need to work outside my plans to get ANY shard.
Of course - if it would be cantina or a hard node - yes, then I'll be getting them as a byproduct of my normal activity.
But in this case it is directly AGAINST my normal activity.
And that is why I think this system is way worse than marquee. (not even going to the sense of urgency)
