In my honest opinion I think this just feels more like SLKR with less survivability. I think it would be cooler if like he gains stacks of hate or something like that when allies fall below certain health thresholds rather than sacrificing allies. Mainly because throughout the clone wars his fall to the darkside really showed when the people closest to him suffered.
