It does exist. I’ve seen it quoted before from a developer. The quote I saw said it was based on the highest power squad you’ve won with in arena.
There's been a longstanding debate about whether it is just squads you've used in arena, squads you've used in GW, or both. There is substantial evidence of people breaking their nodes through the use of certain teams in GW itself, so it is absolutely not just based on arena.
But the point I was responding to was the one about rank 50 vs. rank 5. Your arena RANK has absolutely nothing to do with GW.
It has nothing to do with your rank, correct.
