Nope, hate the idea about ads, this game is perfect without ads.
I have played this game since december 2015, my ap is 43.000-ish and i am a FTP. Even now i still can't get all the new characters. I am completely agree with @swgohfan29 that what made this game truly enjoyable is the long time investment.
