CG doesn't care about those of us who have over 300 characters. Their priority is new players who have nothing but money to spend. Packs are focused on new players, resources are new players, events are new players. There's a difficulty trend for certain events, but those are to get new people to spend money via FOMO. Catch up mechanics are to get new players a bunch of stuff quickly and to spend money getting there.
They stopped caring about long-time players a couple years ago, at least. We are lower priority than clearing out the junk drawer in the employee room. (They have long-time players who beta test for them that they ignore, why would they hear the rest of us?)
However, this game is far less complicated than many other mobile games and other mobile games also do real "new" stuff, not the fake rubbish like the coliseum and era events. And DCs have been like this for a long while now. They are procedurally generated RNG rubbish, though the exception might be with FDCs made for era units to create stupid OP garbage for us to rent. (The Vane DC was most likely made by AI.)
