WRONG!! As stated in the updated events thread written by the admins. The new event will contain both KRENNIC and DEATHTROOPER shards and other rewards.

Different type of event though. It was stated that Krennic and Deathtrooper events would be similar to the K2S0 event. That event itself yielded a 7* character. There'd be no need for other shards.
Of course, they could do something completely different and have one of those characters as the monthly log in. Would probably make more sense for them, to get a bit of extra $$$.
It was stated that these events would use the forced ally system first revealed in the K-2SO event. I haven't seen anything saying the entire event is going to be similar, just that we'd get to use the toons in them. Hopefully we can stop speculating soon. :)
