Not a fan of the crates. I preferred being able to see (and earn), specifically, what I was trying to achieve (or was missing) with the "feat-specific" prizes. Honestly, the crates just feel like a way to hide the reward structure and prey upon the "fear of missing out". But, since I will likely get the "big" crate most if not all of the time, it's a minor gripe. It seems like an unnecessary change, that certainly doesn't add anything from a player perspective.
This (not the fear of missing out part) is probably in part why they went this way. The end goal is always going to be pushing towards development. Players picking and choosing what they want to get (or can get without development) vs pushing on a path to the max reward (which is what they want)
