Gear Crunch

Do we know if there is anything coming out addressing the gear crunch? I love all the new content however i cant help but feel like we are getting more content than most people can keep up with. Does ...

Double the drops of characters, but leave credit and gears where they where prior. Not ideal. Have twice the character shards but no credits to level them up or gear to build them with.
