A useless paperweight might be the wrong wording.
He is a good toon and has his usage at 5 or 6☆ (gac, vs sisters, even vs drevan in arena), put at those stars he is far from what we expected in finally being meta changing (a thing we all looked forward to after 9 month of drevan ina arena).
Also it doesn't feel as a reward to unlock him at the first go, with another huge grind to 7☆ following up on him.
That's also why I cant compare him with any other toon which I farm of the batch and where I know that it will take time until its starred and geared (as kyno compared it). Its an epic toon where i did allready a big grind and commitment beforehand.
I mean that's in some part just a personal issue. It'll feel like a reward for me to get a 5* Malak when they finally fix this event in 2023, good toon more useful than any other toon at 5* I've ever had I'm sure, and then getting better over time as all toons do.
