I've recently spoke with others who also feel the value of a GL is not proportional to what is costs. Every week I have a GL that loses to an ordinary, free lead like Grievous, or CLS. In some cases, these are GL 12 squads vs my R8 (which also) calls in to question the value of relics, relative to cost.

If you are talking about GAC:The value of a GL for offensive use is unquestionable. They can solo so many teams and give you great banners. And not all GL are god-tier on defense. Especially if you set them with the wrong team mates. There are definitely non-GL counters to certain GL def teams. If you put JMK on defense without CAT then you should not be surprised if it gets taken out easily. I suggest to use swgoh.gg counter database to find the best GL team combs.

I'm sick of these people who think they can just farm something like a gl or exec and then just auto win everything. You have to put in the effort to understand and properly use a kit

Great this means you don’t have to chase any other GLs either and you can beat them with originally free leads like GG or CLS

Well, awhile ago CG did state that they didn't intend (properly configured) GL teams to lose to non-GL teams, and proceeded to nerf a set of non-GLs on the ground of that rule. Moreover, the way they stated it sounded like it was going to be a standing policy rather than an one-off thing.

I don't have any problems with new meta non-GL toons themselves or the fact that they could be used to beat GLs. I just take a slight issue with CG quietly going back on a stated policy.
