I think you are wrong about “NO ONE EVER CHECKS THE FORUM”. I have recruited players from the forum advertisements I’ve posted, and you can recruit players from the Players Seeking Guilds forums if you are on top of it.
Not sure why you hate Discord so much, but if you don’t want to use it then yea, you are limiting your options. A global chat would be terrible, and I would never look at it.
