Great Compensation, but...

I am a bit confused about who will be receiving compensation as I can't remember what those era material upgrade VI caches correlated to in the game. I had spent upwards of 25k crystals on era upgrade materials before the compensation was given because I was concerned about a fix being delivered prior to the end of the era and I wanted to benefit from the unlocked zetas and relic levels for the end of the era. Less than maybe 12 hours later, everyone gets all of the materials for free that I just spent nearly $200 in crystals on and I'm a bit concerned that my crystals now are completely wasted, unless the era material upgrade cache VI is the one that I had spent the crystals on. Is that for the bugged materials that were being required for high leveling? Thanks for your help and answers guys, just a confused gamer here who loves the game and is just a bit discouraged having spent money on something hours before the entire game gets it for free (meaning I didnt even benefit from a day of increased colo score or anything).
