As far as I understand this effort was possible by four gilds:

Elite Alliance of Star Battalions (EASB)
Elite - Allianz of Star Monsters (EASM)
"Secret Order of 66" and
"Galaxy Parlament".

It's clearly an advantage to have multiple guilds and one guy join/leave each of them only for the raids. The more guilds are participating the faster it will go.
