Gotcha. So ea basically designed a way to bypass all of their own progress gates. All you have to do is have no life. We all know there is no shortage of people like that.
^ That. For crying out loud (in this case literally), it's a GAME. A Star Wars mobile game. People, with all due respect to lifestyles, that get emotional about others' achievements in a game are just in a different league.
I think everyone needs to relax. Your 10 spots further in the arena, or your extra 3 days of waiting to gear-up, aren't worth literal stress on your body and mind. Believe me when I say, no one will be knocking on your door ready to take you to prison for torture if your QGJ isn't a 7* level X by Saturday. You're doing this to yourselves.
Relax. For your health if nothing else.
The game is a daily grind for gear to get your squad to a point where they're competitive. If guys like that dude that got Han Solo or this Naebacon tool and Team Stink skirt around the rules and get it faster (because hey, It's just how they do it in the gaming world!), then most people aren't going to bother spending money on this game, because what's the point? It's just not that fun knowing the only way to compete is to cheat.
Look, early on before the NRAJ post and before the in game announcement, I argued vividly that this was wrong. I still think it is, but the only opinion that counts is CG's opinion. It's not cheating because the creator of the game has said it is not cheating and nowhere is it stated in any rule that it's prohibited. At some point you have to let it go - respect the decision made - and then make your own decision if you want to continue to play the game under the rules set. As of now, these are rules, so your choices are to take action to keep up, fall behind by taking no action, or cease supporting the game.
I mostly agree with you. But I think a lot of people, including myself, want to express their view to the creators that we don't like that this is permitted. It seems so far like most players don't like it.
You might argue that the point has already been made and it has been beaten to death, but that is not true at all. It is valid for the points to continue to be made until they make the change in the system, so long as the players care about the issue.
Just trying to save people some frustration. At some point you have to turn the page and decide your next course of action. I don't know what can be more clear an indication of CG's support for this activity than a dev addressing it specifically in real time writing and then a person that utilized this activity getting a highly publicized in game announcement. The debate is over guys - this is like arguing again if Barriss should have been nerfed or not. We already have thousands of comment on the subject - adding in another hundred snowflakes won't change anything or add something new to the discussion. I addressed that post above specifically because it indicated people were cheating...but no they were not cheating. This is a legit activity, like it or not, it's not cheating.
Totally agree it's everyone's right to post and vent and I'm not at all trying to prevent posting - but just from my own experience I'd advise people to move on. This is not our game. We don't work for CG. We can't control the actions. They set the rules - all we can choose to do is play or not. Make peace with the decision that has been made and plan accordingly.
Edit: Most of all - we can't call these people cheaters or the tactic an exploit.
