True, but if you got kanan/elder there you dont have to worry as they can dispel it
I would say that kanan would be better than elder simply because when sthan loses his taunt the entire team gonna be in danger cuz of the cannon, although if jyn keeps her special to give sthan 100% tm and get that turn before the cannon fires may viable with any of both
You're missing the point, they barely get to their turns with Palpatine going town. Within that timeframe STH will most likely die. Even if you manage to dispell STH, with all the attacks from Palpa he'd just use his aoe again that inflicts healing immunity.
And you never want to dispell his offense up in a TM removal squad (which Kanan does), the droids will feed the B2 with TM if he's not buffed.
