Heroic Rancor - zVader team : difference in turn-meter reduction behavior when starting in P1 or not

Hi all :)

This afternoon I was able to try zVader (with Palp, TFP, Savage and QGJ) in an Heroic Rancor for the first time.
It was only a test run as we were still in our "Registration" period.
I started with 14% of Phase 1 left and cleared it with only TFP losing a minimal amount of its protection.
I kept going and was able to clear P2, 3 and 4 (left 6.35% on P4 before to retreat) without Rancor able to take 1 turn.
I was quite pleased with the result as you can imagine. :)

Once our "Registration" period was over I joined the game towards the middle of P3.
The same zVader team performed so badly that, after having used all my other teams, I ended-up with a final score of just over a million.

During my trial run I was able to actually remove turn meter from the Rancor, to the extent that its bar could go from almost full to almost empty.
During the "official" run, apart from QGJ's tm-removal, the Rancor was immediately regaining any turn meter my Empire/Sith were able to remove (sometimes he was regaining even more that I was able to remove).

Some might say I was unlucky, bad rng, etc etc, but I don't believe it to be the case, the difference in the way turn meter could be seen to be reduced and regained was too obvious.
It's as if the whole mechanism worked differently.

Any explanation as to why tm-removal worked so differently between my trial attempt started in P1 and all the subsequent ones started outside of P1?
Which "behavior" is the WAI one?

  • If you've read the other posts on the forum or at least bothered to search a bit, the TMR from Zader lead allegedly adds on every time you transition from one phase to the next phase in Rancor Raid.
So on your trial run, Zader was giving you 3x the leadership effect by P3, which explained why you could see Rancor TM go from almost full to empty.
On your actual run, you did not start in P1, so there was no "extra" TMR effect.
