This is generational. I happen to quite like Hondo as a character (but mainly because so much of the Star Wars characters are drawn so 2 dimensionally morally that a bit of nuance goes a long way - however I feel I’m probably leaning towards the TVF camp in that I consider anything produced after 1983 to be fan fiction (yes even if it was produced by George- he was his own biggest fan)
